Mentor bureau

Objective
The objective of the Mentor Bureau is to increase the resources for 100 Black Men of Las Vegas mentoring programs by establishing a pool of mentors consisting of community partners, sponsors, and employees from companies that wish to work with 100 Black Men of Las Vegas. It is our objective to expand the experience of “What they see is what they will be” by exposing them to a diverse group of mentors and contributors.

Benefit
The Mentor Bureau provides a wide range of mentors for our youth programs. It provides the flexibility to give committed individuals the opportunity to “give back” and contribute to the success of children and young adults in our community. Members of the Mentor Bureau will receive “Mentoring the 100 Way Across a Lifetime” nationally recognized training.

Process

  • Individuals must complete an application on our website www.100blackmenlasvegas.org
  • Every application will be reviewed and approved by 100 Black Men Las Vegas mentoring staff.
  • Approved applicants must go through a background check and complete Mentoring the 100 Way training.
  • Mentor Bureau members will provide schedule of availability and potential 100 Black Men of Las Vegas programs and mentoring activities of interest.
  • We will create a diverse pool of mentors that will be drawn from as needed.
  • The program will initially provide virtual mentoring resources. Physical mentoring will be provided as the COVID-19 pandemic challenge dissipates.
  • The program will provide our mentees/participants with diverse community involvement.

The first Mentor Bureau orientation will be conducted Saturday, May 1, at 10:00am via Zoom (Link will be provided to members).

The Mentor Bureau is managed and coordinated by the 100 Black Men Las Vegas
